The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything by James Martin

I happened to buy this book at our church's book sale several months back. I started it, but dropped it to read some other things. Then Pope Francis was elected, and suddenly there was a Jesuit running things in Rome, so I revived my interested.

James Martin is a really great writer for the casual reader. I have not read this sort of pop Christianity book for a while, and to be honest, it was really nice. You'll learn some things about Catholicism in general and the Jesuit tradition in particular. Recommended for a good introduction to such things.

My Harper's subscription logjam finally broke, and in June I feasted on this year's May, June, and July issues. I also have online access again so I can go back and pick up February and April. What can I say, I like that magazine.
